Surprised and disappointed

I've become a huge fan of RMS and it tends to be all I'm wearing these days when I just don't want to have to work too hard for a nice, easy look, so I jumped on these Cashmere Mattes and got the trio that came with the bag (which is very nice), excited for a new formula and better packaging than th...e Eyelights. Unfortunately, these Mattes are extremely hard for me to work with no matter how I apply it (fingertip, the RMS brush made for the eye formulas), how lightly I apply it, or how hard I work to keep my lid area fully extended. Even the lightest wash of color creases while I'm trying to apply it because it starts to dry so quickly that the formula stops working with me almost immediately. I have a hood but not a deep one, and the Eyelights have never had this problem. You can't build this formula because it dries too fast and you'll start picking up the first layer and getting patches, and perhaps it's not meant to be built up but I just don't see how you get even a little color payoff without applying more than a pinhead's worth of product and working so fast that the process is stressful. Once dried, even the slightest eye movement causes bits to start flaking off, and within a couple hours I had flakes all over my undereye area. This has been the experience with all three shades I picked up (Desert Rose, Mossy Stone, Mallo Coast), and I really dislike how dry my lids look even with the sheerest application I can manage, where I barely see the color at all. I think the concept is excellent, the colors are beautiful, and the packaging with the needle tip is an improvement over the Eyelights (please update those to the Mattes packaging!) but application and wear are a complete miss for me.
